Sheila Henderson is a full time missionary, in the Lord’s work with Bethany Chapel, Toronto, Canada.
Update: Adelphoi News (Apr 7, 2013)
Sheila has taken a turn for the worse, her condition has deteriorated. The results of the CT scan done yesterday are not good.
Overnight, Sheila was restless and managed to dislodge the tubes for feeding and IV and they had to be replaced. She continues to be in and out of consciousness. Her temperature was elevated. Her low blood count seems to indicate there is still internal bleeding from brain. PLEASE CONTINUE TO PRAY for Sheila.

Sheila had spent most of Good Friday and Saturday at the Easter Conference. On Saturday night of the Easter weekend (March 30th) after returning home, she fell down the flight of stairs to the basement where she lives. Her injuries are quite serious including a fractured skull. She is in the ICU at Sunnybrook Hospital, Toronto, where she is being carefully monitored by the medical staff, and Bethany Chapel has arranged a rotation of members so that one person is with her at all times round the clock.
There was extensive damage to her head - her skull was fractured on both sides with damage to the frontal lobes and some bleeding around the brain. There was also some internal bleeding causing her blood count to drop, for which she had a transfusion yesterday - her blood levels are now stable. She had been slipping in and out of consciousness and was unaware of who was with her and did not recognize anybody. The neuro-surgeon is concerned about her neck, and the brace will have to be kept on for several weeks.
PLEASE PRAY for Sheila that she will be aware of the presence and peace of God at this time, pray for her sister Patricia and family in England, for her Bethany family who are making sure somebody is with her at all times, and for wisdom for the doctors who are caring for her.
