With a heavy heart, we would announce the home-call of our dear Bro. A. K. Varghese (Amakkattu Raju) this evening (Friday, 12 Apr 2013). He had been undergoing chemotherapy, as was being announced, for treatment of his malignant pancreas ever since he was diagnosed of it three months ago. The end came while he was admitted to the ICU of the Madiram Hospital, Manganam, Kottayam.
Bro. Varghese has been serving the Lord and the Saints of the Brethren Assembly Puthuppally ever since he returned from Doha, Qatar, after many years of employment. He was the first Electrical Engineer from the area who had a Bachelor’s Degree (BE [Elec.]). He was the influence behind our Assembly’s “digital communication revolution” for he introduced several changes to the communication methods of our Assembly such as audio-video recording of all the messages delivered in the Assembly and sharing it over the internet, and broadcasting the weekly newsletter “Puthuppally Brethren” which is a compilation of all the activities of our Assembly for the week. Brethren who hail from Puthuppally and are living in various parts of the globe were being updated of the Assembly news every week. He was also one of the webmasters of the Assembly website, puthuppallybrethren.org.
Bro. Varghese is survived by his wife, Molly, and son, Liju, (Doha). We seek your fervent prayer for his family that they may be consoled and granted the peace that surpasses all understanding.
Funeral is on 14th Sunday at 1 pm
