Evg. A. S. Sabu Writes From Arasikere, Karnataka, India: Greetings in precious name of our Lord and Saviour Jesus Christ! I would like to share an important prayer request, what is happening in Javagal Village, Karnataka, India. Javagal is 35 miles away from Arasikere with a population of about 5000 people. People are very poor and downtrodden. Since the last 3 years we are visiting that village and doing Bible Studies. As a result, more than 9 families accepted the Lord, got baptized, and are regularly coming to fellowship. The work is extended to another two surrounding villages. Two years back one of the believers house was burned. Today again persecution arose. Houses of poor believers were attacked and the brethren including their wives were beaten-up. The whole colony of people led by their non-Christian leaders came and shouted like anything. One of the gangster took a knife and attacked one of the believers. Fortunately it missed the stomach and only the hand was injured.
The believers who are new are very frightened and seemingly disappointed. The colony leaders warned them that they would prohibit water from the village bore well. The persecutors are trying to remove the names of believers from all government facilities. Believers are in a difficult condition. There is no protection from the government side. The officers have warned the believers that no Christian missionaries should be allowed into the village. We need your precious prayer for the new believers.
